Chuck Scianna, President

Charles “Chuck” Scianna is a 1975 graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi.  He is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and has been married to the former Rita Andrews for 46 years.  Upon graduation Scianna moved to Houston to work for Houston Systems Mfg. Co., a wholly owned subsidiary of the Offshore Company where he began as a project coordinator for drilling equipment.  He was promoted to assistant controller then served as contract administrator for the company.  He later joined Geosource Oil Tool Division as sales manager.  Scianna then went to work for Oilfield Pump and Equipment as controller and was promoted to President in 1979.  Under his leadership the company expanded into the five divisions and was sold in 1982.  In 1983 he became controller of Ralson Pipe Services, a processor of API OCTG and later was promoted to Vice President of Sales.  In 1986 Scianna co-founded Sim-Tex and through his relationship with the founder of Hyundai Pipe became the exclusive distributor for Hyundai in the US until 2018.  Sim-Tex also distributed other Korean, European and domestic OCTG.  From 1998 until 2018 Sim-Tex was the exclusive distributor in the US for Benteler seamless OCTG. 

In 2014 Scianna was awarded the “Heritage Award” by the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation for unique and significant service to the Heritage Foundation in the fulfillment of its mission.  He has served on the board of the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation since 2008 and served on the executive committee as development chairs during two campaigns.  He has served on the board of Boys and Girls Country in Hockley, Texas and is the current Board Chair Elect.  In Waller Texas, where Sim-Tex offices are located, he has served as president of the Waller Economic Development Corporation since 2006.  He is a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Bellville, Texas where he serves as chair of the Finance Council.  He is also active in the Knights of Columbus Council 9268.  He and his wife are also supporters of the Waller County Fair Association, the Austin County Fair Association, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and The Weekly YMCA.  Their two daughters, Ashley and Stephanie are active in Sim-Tex. 

In 2015 the new College of Business building at the University of Southern Mississippi was opened and named Scianna Hall.  William Carey University named its business building on their Mississippi Gulf Coast Campus “Scianna Hall”.  The Scianna family are strong supporters of education. 

Sim-Tex continues to provide equality OCTG from both foreign and domestic sources.  Sim-Tex has built a reputation for quality, service, dependability and standing behind the products that they sell. 

Chuck Galliger, VP and Chief Financial Officer

Chuck has been with SIM-TEX for over 14 years.  He has over 34 years of progressive experience in Finance and Accounting; including financial analysis and reporting, planning/forecasting, modeling, audit and financial systems.  Chuck previously worked for Duracell, General Electric and BMC Software.

Chuck has a Bachelor’s of Accoutancy from the University of North Dakota and is a Certified Public Accountant.
